The internet fell soft and tense earlier today when Apple posted the above message on their Store page. Following the message we were greeted by Aperture 3 shortly after.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Faces support for better organisation
  • Places support to select images based on the location that they were taken.
  • Non-destructive brushes allowing for Perfect Images
  • Adjustment presets to apply image effects
  • Browse your image library with a full-screen browser
  • Create slideshows wich incorporate HD video, audio tracks and custom titles

Aperture 3 will support both Leopard and Snow Leopard, and is available now for $199 USD. An upgrade version is available as well for $99 USD.

So today Apple announced that Snow Leopard will be released on the 28th of August 2009. This is following many rumors that had been flying around. So have you Pre Ordered your copy yet? I did earlier today and decided that I would run over some of the features. First of all it runs in 64 bit, yes, 64 bit. What dose that mean for you? Massive speed upgrades. Along with that the O.S. has been refined. No, they haven’t cut everything out, so calm down. But, Apple got rid of unnecessary things which in turn will make the Operating System run allot more efficient. Snow Leopard will also feature the brand new Quicktime X. Quicktime X features a brand new interface, which which lets you play movies, videos and anything else you may be interested in viewing allot easier.

Is it worth the upgrade? Yes. Although your not getting a completely redesigned and re vamp, Mac OS X Snow Leopard with the edition of 64 bit will be worth the upgrade. Everything will run better. Faster and more smooth.

Remember back when Toshiba was all for their HD-DVD technology? And we saw Toshiba and Sony go head to head until Sony took the prize? Toshiba pretty much admitted to defeat today when they announced they would have their own Blu-Ray Player out to the market by the end of the year. Yomiuri Shimbun said they had given up on the HD-DVD idea and would now focus on possibly presenting a Blu-Ray player by the end of the year.

Capcom has made one of their greatest games fit into the small and portable iPhone! Yes, Leon Kennedy’s greatest adventure, Resident Evil 4, has  now been adapted to the iPhone.  There were fears that this adaptation would only be exclusively available in Japan.  However, the good news is that Capcom has announced that Japan will use the traditional name, which means that Resident Evil 4 will be  going Global! Although is has been stated that Japan will receive the game first, someime in late July,  it will then be filtered into other iPhone territories.

After 6 months off on a medical leave, Steve Jobs has returned to Apple. Steve Jobs had pancreatic cancer in mid-2004, very few survive, though Steve had a rare type, an islet cell neuroendocrine tumor, Steve had surgery and returned to normal health. Though in April of this year Steve underwent a liver transplant, that, whilst already being on a medical leave due to a hormonal imbalance. Steve has now returned and is reportedly being working a few days a week whilst the rest are spent at home. Though Steve has had say over things and input on topics, I think that his return is going bring many great products over the next 12 months, but I guess we will have to just wait and see. Overall it’s great to have Steve back on the job and I wish all the best for him.
